We are looking for a talented and curious technical writer who is passionate about creating compelling content that makes our developer and designer users successful. As a technical writer at Guidewire, you will use your ability to grasp technical concepts to convert developer-speak into content that speaks to the user. You will create documentation for our design system and digital platform, and will use your passion for customer success to make sure users get the information they need to make their jobs easier.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, strong technical skills, a hands-on approach, and a self-motivated attitude. Expect to work in a fast-changing, flexible environment, where cross-geo collaboration is key.

Job Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with developers, product managers, and user experience designers to understand our products and target audiences

  • Collaborate with other team members to create technical content for our digital platform, UI libraries, design system, and APIs

  • Participate in initiatives to make our content more impactful and relevant to our different audiences 

Required skills and experience

  • 3+ years of experience creating content for enterprise software applications 

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Technical aptitude to read and understand code, and document complex solutions

  • Ability to write code samples to illustrate how a feature works

  • Knowledge of content development principles, theories, and concepts, including information architecture and information delivery

  • Understanding of web applications and cloud platforms

  • Ability to get information from subject matter experts and learn by experimenting

Preferably, you also have some of the following:

  • Good understanding of structured authoring and markup languages such as DITA and Markdown

  • Experience working in Git/GitHub

  • Familiarity with design systems

  • Knowledge of React, JavaScript, and TypeScript

  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Experience with static site generators such as Docusaurus is a plus
