As an outgrowth of the Alabama Farmers Federation, Alfa Insurance Companies began in 1946 to provide quality fire insurance to federation members, who were primarily farmers. Today Alfa offers a variety of insurance coverages, including property and automobile, to its clients. Alfa and its affiliates now provide insurance and other financial services to more than 1 million customers in 11 states.
Alfa selected Guidewire InsuranceSuite as part of an organization-wide transformation initiative. Guidewire PartnerConnect Consulting member EY assisted with the implementation project, which includes new digital applications for underwriting, policy administration, claims, billing, and client data management.
By consolidating its legacy systems onto a cohesive digital platform, Alfa simplifies its infrastructure to reduce system maintenance costs and streamline business processes. The move also gives Alfa the flexibility needed to remain competitive in an evolving market by enabling the insurer to focus on product development and enhancements.
“The biggest driver for implementing InsuranceSuite was to modernize our core operations quickly for consistency and to enhance our product offerings,” said Beth Chancey, Alfa’s Senior Vice President for P&C Operations. “Our business users are realizing the power of InsuranceSuite and asking for additional features and integrations with our claims department to utilize the full capabilities of the applications.
Alfa’s new integrated system enables the company to leverage tools that eliminate manual processes and provides an omnichannel experience to policyholders, agents, customer service representatives, and vendors. Alfa is already experiencing results.
