Donegal
Donegal Insurance Group is a group of insurance companies providing full lines of Personal, Farm, and Commercial insurance in the mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Midwest states. The company’s mission—which focuses on excellent customer service, fair claims handling, underwriting profitability, and innovative marketing through the independent agency system—requires a technology backbone that will sustain and propel the insurer into the future. For Donegal, it meant a complete technology systems transformation.
Like many Guidewire customers, Donegal began its technology transformation journey with Guidewire ClaimCenter and Guidewire BillingCenter, and most recently chose Guidewire core and data products to replace its legacy systems and further modernize the way it does business. As a result, the company is now a full Guidewire InsuranceSuite customer.
The company is implementing the platform, which includes underwriting, policy administration, client data, product content, rating, reinsurance management, enterprise-wide data management, and business intelligence for all of its lines of business: Workers’ Compensation, Commercial, and Personal. In addition, the company will use Guidewire Analytics to embed predictive insights into Guidewire ClaimCenter and Guidewire PolicyCenter, creating a Smart Core system.
Guidewire PartnerConnect Consulting partner Ernst & Young (EY) LLP supported the Guidewire implementation to help Donegal modernize its overall business and increase efficiencies.
“By selecting Guidewire for our policy administration and data analytics platforms, we were able to streamline our workflows and significantly enhance processing efficiency. We feel that Guidewire’s product and technology roadmaps are closely aligned with Donegal’s business and growth strategies and that the Guidewire platform will support our current and future technology needs,” said Sanjay Pandey, SVP and CIO at Donegal.
