What is Guidewire DEVHack?
Guidewire DEVHack 2025 is Guidewire’s premier virtual hackathon, bringing together the largest network of developers in the P&C industry to showcase their skills, passion, and ingenuity to solve real-world industry challenges.
This year, we’re encouraging development teams to get creative, collaborate, and build extraordinary solutions, leveraging the power of Guidewire — the world’s leading platform for P&C.
The Challenge
Teams will gain access to a full InsuranceSuite sandbox environment provisioned on the latest cloud release on Guidewire Cloud Platform to build a working prototype addressing a key challenge in P&C insurance.
NEW THIS YEAR! Earn 25 bonus points for each of the following Application Services used in your final prototype:- Autopilot Workflow Service
- Jutro Digital Platform
- Guidewire Rating Service (EA)
- Guidewire Functions (EA)
In addition to these bonus points, teams will also have the opportunity to work with our not-yet-released Extension Layer and CodeLift capabilities, which will be highlighted at this year’s DEVSummit India!
The possibilities are limited only by your imagination and technical expertise.
How to Participate
Nearly 200 teams applied to compete in DEVHack 2025!
A maximum of 40 teams will be selected. Approved teams will have 30 days to build their prototype and submit:- A three-minute video demo
- A one to two-page report explaining your solution and approach
- The source code of their working prototype

Prizes
From all submitted prototypes, a panel of judges will select 10 finalists. Finalist video presentations will then be showcased and public voting will begin.
First, second, and third-place winners will be selected!First place:
- $500 per team member (max of five)
- An opportunity to present your winning solution in the demo theater at Connections in Las Vegas (Oct 17-20, 2025)
- Guidewire Education:
- One certification exam voucher per team member (max of five)
- Five free instructor-led virtual seat days per team
- Accelerated validation and waived fee to help make your solution available on Guidewire Marketplace, if applicable
Second place:
- $300 per team member (max of five)
- Guidewire Education:
- One certification exam voucher per team member (max of five)
- Five free instructor-led virtual seat days per team
- Accelerated validation and waived fee to help make your solution available on Guidewire Marketplace, if applicable
Third place:
- $150 per team member (max of five)
- Guidewire Education:
- One certification exam voucher per team member (max of five)
- Five free instructor-led virtual seat days per team
- Accelerated validation and waived fee to help make your solution available on Guidewire Marketplace, if applicable
Timeline

- May 7: DEVHack orientation webinar
- May 7-31: Education phase
- May 15-16: Join us at DEVSummit India to explore our new Alpine Mode capabilities, including Extension Layer and CodeLift
- June 1-30: Build phase
- June 30: Final deliverables (see above) due by 11:59 PM Pacific Time
- July: Ten finalists announced, public voting opens, and winners revealed (exact dates TBD)
