The Story

In 2018, Orion180 made its way into the P&C industry. As a startup insurer, built specifically for homeowners, it quickly grew due to its focus on technology and making the process of buying and managing products easier for agents and consumers.

Orion180’s core mission is to provide excellent, results-driven service to independent insurance agents and make it as easy as possible for them to produce business. It is able to do that due to its use of modern technology and accurate data.

In 2020, Orion180 teamed up with Guidewire HazardHub to provide it with comprehensive and accurate data for business insights.

Implementation of HazardHub and the integration into Orion180’s core system was seamless. It only took one week. The insurer immediately saw the benefits as it received ten times more data than it previously had received with its other provider.

Orion180 credits HazardHub for helping it solve data issues involved with the pricing of policies. There are scores and grades that HazardHub places on risks and the insurer uses 15-20 of those values to price underlying risks.

During the quote and buying process, the data Orion180 receives from HazardHub helps the insurer decide whether a property and insured is high or low risk.

Orion180 has also accelerated underwriting and agent workflows by providing automation.
