Wawanesa Deploys Guidewire Systems for Rating, Underwriting, Policy Administration, and Billing Management

Guidewire products enabling one of Canada’s largest Property/Casualty insurers to increase flexibility and enhance broker and customer experience capabilities

FOSTER CITY California and WINNIPEG Manitoba , June 22, 2017

Guidewire Software, Inc. (NYSE: GWRE), a provider of software products to Property and Casualty insurers, and The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company (Wawanesa), which provides coverage to over 2 million policyholders in Canada and the United States, announced today that Wawanesa has successfully completed its core system implementations in the United States. The company continues to deploy InsuranceSuite in Canada.

Wawanesa is using Guidewire PolicyCenter® as its new underwriting and policy administration solution and Guidewire BillingCenter® as its new billing management system. The company has also deployed Rating Management and Client Data Management. Recently, it selected Guidewire Quote and Buy, Account Management, and Claim Portals for Policyholders, as well as Gateway Portal for Agents to enhance the digital experience for its policyholders and brokers.

Wawanesa selected PolicyCenter and BillingCenter to help facilitate business agility and improve efficiency across its geographically dispersed organization and varied lines of business. Wawanesa is deploying PolicyCenter and BillingCenter in a phased jurisdictional implementation. They are now live across all Wawanesa Personal lines of business in the United States, and the roll out across all lines of business in Canada is in progress.

  • Offer a more efficient workflow and enhanced data analytics capabilities to underwriters; and

  • Roll out product changes and rates to take advantage of market opportunities and better respond to competition.
