Guidewire Software, Inc. (NYSE: GWRE), a provider of software products to general insurers, today announced that it has been named as one of the Best Workplaces in Ireland 2016 by the Great Places To Work Institute. At an awards ceremony held in Dublin on 24 February, Guidewire was placed at number thirteen in the medium-sized workplaces category. This is the first time Guidewire has received Best Workplaces in Ireland recognition.
The Best Workplaces awards are determined by the results of an independent, third-party survey in which employees from hundreds of Irish-based, and headquartered organisations participate. Employers are ranked on topics including work culture, management practices and behaviors, trust with co-workers, benefits, overall compensation, longevity, trust in senior leaders, and the perception that their contribution is valued.
"It is a privilege to be recognised as a Best Workplace in Ireland," said Marcus Ryu, chief executive officer, Guidewire Software. "Guidewire has made a major investment in our Dublin office, and its professional staff, of almost 200, have become indispensable to both our software development and implementation work for our global customer base. I am grateful for their contribution to our mission, as well as our Ireland HR team, who have worked assiduously to make this office a fun and professionally fulfilling place to invest one's career."
"The hardest part of growing a product development and services centre is making sure we build the right team," said Niall Lalor, practice director, distributed consulting, Guidewire Software. "There is always pressure to hire, especially in an expanding organisation and a competitive job market. It’s by getting the culture right and by finding people who share our values, that we’ve been successful. Our team understands this, and I’m delighted to see that the honest, anonymous feedback of my colleagues supports that conclusion."
