“Power Up!” was the theme at this year’s annual conference hosted by the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association in Nashville, TN. The IASA Annual Conference is always a welcome break for many of us here at Guidewire, as it offers a chance to meet with our customers, partners, and peers at one of the insurance industry’s flagship events. Held at the beautiful Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, TN, this year’s event was particularly special for me as it gave a local Tennesseean a chance to show off what a special place Nashville has become. For anyone who was not able to attend, here’s a quick recap of the highlights and activities that stood out to us.

Brian Retson, Sr. Product Marketing Manager, highlights the capabilities of Guidewire InsurancePlatform™. Roger Walker, COO of Cornerstone National Insurance Company, an InsuranceNow customer, participated in a wonderful panel discussion moderated by Phil Iaccarino, Director of InsuranceNow Product Marketing at Guidewire. In the session, “The Cloud Redefines Core Insurance Administration,” Walker shared his best practices, challenges, lessons learned, and benefits realized from Cornerstone’s move to the cloud. Check out the recap by my colleague Carrie Burns here.

Nathan Figueroa, Senior Sales Consultant, shows off Guidewire’s latest additions to InsurancePlatform, Guidewire ProducerEngage™ for Salesforce Financial Services Cloud and Guidewire ServiceRepEngage™ for Salesforce Financial Services Cloud. During the conference, we partnered with AWS to host a “fiesta”-themed reception at the Solario Cantina to welcome our customers and partners to Nashville, and thank them for their gracious support. With over 130 attendees, the tequila tasting and specialty cocktails – Guidewire Cantina Rita & Cloud Nine – were the perfect setting to spend time with our customers and partners.

Of special note was the announcement that Phil Iaccarino of Guidewire was named as a Board Member at Large for IASA. Phil has volunteered with IASA for a number of years, and will now serve on the leadership team and continue his service to IASA in a new capacity.

Next year’s conference will be held in Phoenix, and we’re already looking forward to it!
