New Mexico Mutual Group, a leading workers' compensation carrier in the state of New Mexico, and Guidewire Software®, a leading provider of solutions to property and casualty and workers' compensation insurers, today announced that New Mexico Mutual Group has fully deployed Guidewire ClaimCenter® as its new claims system. Now in production, ClaimCenter supports the insurer's entire claims organization and all phases of the claim process. Today, ClaimCenter is in use by 60 New Mexico Mutual employees, processing 5,000-6,000 claims annually.
In addition to providing the company a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), ClaimCenter has enabled New Mexico Mutual to transition from its previous DOS-based system to a modern, web-based claims application; one that is easier for adjusters to work with and for IT to support and maintain. The old system was technically outdated, difficult to navigate, and limited in the amount of claims information that could be captured, stored, and accessed. ClaimCenter offers New Mexico Mutual's users an intuitive web interface, and the ability to easily capture and access large amounts of claim data.
"The ten-month Guidewire ClaimCenter implementation project was extremely well run, on-budget, and in-production two months ahead of schedule," said Cecil Rudd, director of claims, New Mexico Mutual. "The improved efficiencies we've gained with ClaimCenter enable us to manage claims faster and more efficiently than ever before."
With ClaimCenter, the New Mexico Mutual claims organization has gained the capability to modernize and streamline the claim process, while enhancing service quality for policyholders. ClaimCenter provides New Mexico Mutual:
Real-time view of inventory, enabling efficient use of resources;
The ability for in-house medical bill reviewers and adjusters to work in the same claims system;
Built-in productivity tools enabling adjusters to handle larger volumes of claims;
More claim data is captured giving adjusters access to more information for improved decision making;
Improved collaboration allowing adjusters and managers to work on the same problem at the same time; and
System changes are completed by in-house staff making New Mexico Mutual self-reliant.
"ClaimCenter has received universal acceptance by our adjusters," said Mike Zambrano, corporate communications (and former claims adjuster), New Mexico Mutual. "Our employees were involved in the project each step of the way; they were our testers, and provided invaluable input as we configured ClaimCenter to our needs."
Guidewire ClaimCenter is a leading end-to-end claims system for property and casualty and workers' compensation insurance. ClaimCenter's flexible business rules enable claims organizations to optimize and monitor the claim process. Claims executives can define, enforce, and continually refine their preferred claim handling practices. In addition, a modern technology architecture, providing 100% web client, and web services interface enable lower total cost of ownership in any environment.
"New Mexico Mutual has achieved a technology advantage in their market," said Jeff Simpson, chairman and chief executive officer, Guidewire Software. "We are pleased that ClaimCenter has enabled New Mexico Mutual to respond to their customers better and faster; making this implementation a win for the State of New Mexico as well as for their customers."
