The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company (Wawanesa), one of the largest Canadian property and casualty insurers, has begun the national roll-out of Guidewire InsuranceSuite™ products in its Alberta operations, following the successful implementation across all personal lines of business in the United States. Guidewire Software Inc. (NYSE: GWRE) is the provider of the innovative, fully integrated policy administration, rating, claims management, and billing systems suite.
The new platform launched in Alberta in November 2017 as part of Wawanesa’s multi-year strategy to modernize its core legacy systems and processes, all towards making it much easier and more efficient for brokers to do business with Wawanesa and, very critically, providing an innovative digital foundation to create a best-in-class customer experience.
“The goal was simple, deploy a platform to help us better serve our valued customers and brokers at a time when digital connections are radically changing many aspects of the insurance business,” said Carol Jardine, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer. “We believe Guidewire sets a very high standard for automating and optimizing a bigger part of the shared digital experience between customer, broker and insurance company.”
In Alberta, all new business for commercial automobile, personal automobile and personal property is currently underwritten in the Guidewire platform. Over the next year, all existing personal automobile, commercial automobile and personal property will be migrated to the new system.
“We are excited for the team at Wawanesa as their transformation project begins to roll out across Canada,” said Mike Polelle, Chief Delivery Officer, Guidewire Software. “Our technology is the solid foundation upon which Wawanesa can provide an overall enhanced experience for their policyholders and brokers alike.”
The national Guidewire technology rollout continues throughout 2018 across British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan as Wawanesa accelerates its operational transformation to improve its customer experience and strengthen its broker relationships.
